Simple, but empowering, the skill secrets of effective and efficient organizing is a passion. Through speaking engagements and one-on-one organizing coaching sessions, Laurie creates organizational strategies for both the home and school learning environments. She designs functional systems, customized for every age child.
Laurie moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2001 as an elementary teacher at Trinity Episcopal School. At Trinity, Laurie created, designed, and implemented a "Healthful Living" curriculum, chaired the annual Field Day, as well as the Facilities for Accreditation and Kitchen Committees.
She served as a volunteer leader for Young Life high school student groups and started Wyldlife, a ministry for middle school students. Laurie won third place in the nation for the Most Creative Teacher of the Year Award presented by Dole Foods.
Today, Laurie is a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) and is currently working on her NSGCD certification (National Study Group on Chronically Disorganized) . Using her experience as an educator with 20 years of experience working with children, Laurie has developed and written two organizational manuals for children entitled “Simplify: The Organized Child” and “Simplify: The Organized Teen”. Laurie also owns her own organizational supply company-Simplify, established in 2008. Simplify offers top of the line, essential, durable, and functional organizational products.
Laurie moved to Charlotte from Raleigh, North Carolina where she earned a B.A. in Child Development and K-6 licensure from Meredith College, and now enjoys living in the Queen City with her husband, David, and their three dogs.
