Perfect bathtub storage for kids toys. A curtain rod paced low at the back of the bathtub and attach baskets with shower hooks! I love it!
Spring is here and the ticks will soon be showing their heads. Here is a good way to get them off you, your children, or your pets. Give it a try.
“I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great because it works in
those places where it’s sometimes difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of
dark hair, etc.” “Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20); the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away. This technique has worked every time I’ve used it (and that was frequently), and it’s much less traumatic
for the patient and easier for me..” “Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can’t see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor’s wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn’t reach it with tweezers. She used this method and immediately called me back to say, “It worked!”

DIY ice pack: This was made from 2 cups of DAWN and 1 cup of rubbing alcohol. Use the good ziplock bags- one inside on another with one zipper side down inside the other with the zip on top. Loosely wrap in a thin dishtowel or into a old pillow case. Mine started leaking after about a year so I just poured it into new bags. It freezes nearly solid but becomes maleable quickly. Don’t use on bare skin without a cover- they are really, really cold.

Take your favorite liquid fabric softener and soak an old hand towel or flour cloth completely with it. Wring it out and let it dry completely, then throw it in with your next load. This mega-fabric softener sheet should be good for at least 40 loads of laundry, stretching out softener use and lessening waste. In other words, save money.

Don’t throw out the water your boil your eggs in. This water contains tons of calcium that your plants will love. Just let the water cool and dump it on your plants. I also save my egg shells, rinse them out real well, smash them up then mix them with dirt and/or potting soil before planting any plants. For someone who doesn’t have a green thumb, I have had great success with this.
Mix fabric softener with water. Wet doll hair with mixture and comb!
Fun for your little girls -
For little girls that like to play with baby dolls, take a real baby bottle, roll up a sheet of copy paper (fit to length of bottle), insert it into bottle and it looks like a bottle of milk. You can put different color construction paper such as orange for orange juice.
For the serious “little” mommy, take the paper off of a brown crayon and break in to pieces, put the pieces inside the baby doll’s diaper (instant poop). This will keep them busy for hours! (Not recommended for little girls that still put stuff in their mouths)
